Originated in the Philippines, Pekiti Tirsia Kali is a martial art and self-defense system which teaches the students to solve conflict situations. Evasion and escape, negotiating and creative problem solving are just as important as physical confrontation.
Pekiti Tirsia Kali is famous for its highly developed methods in the use of and protection against weapons. U.S. Special Forces uses these techniques to handle close combat situations. Also, many military forces throughout the world have incorporated Kali to train their soldiers. The movement patterns and principles are directly transferred from one to the other weapon - in this way, open hands, blades and sticks becomes a functional unity.
Those who practice PTK will realize that this philosophy is not just lip service - this art will positively and lastingly influence the life of the practitioners.

Pekiti Tirsia Kali Instructor
Mr. Art Samson has been training in the Filipino martial art of Pekiti Tirsia Kali since 2010 and has been awarded a Full Instructor rank. Mr. Samson has trained primarily under the head of the PTK System; Grandtuhon Leo T. Gaje and has had the opportunity to train under many of the system’s senior instructors both here in the United States as well as the Philippines.
Mr. Samson is a firm believer and advocate for the self-defense aspects of the PTK system, however what he enjoys most about the system is the challenges; be it getting that 200th repetition of the same attack pattern when your arm is dead tired or dealing with your mental reservations about facing someone in a stick fight that we learn about who we are.
Outside of the training hall Mr. Samson can be found biking and spending time with his family and church community.
